Where have they been?
The media’s latest preoccupation seems to be with the crowds at John McCain’s rallies, calling them “angry”. Among the horrible things done by the angry crowds are cries of “Nobama,” “Socialist,” along with–gasp–”boos” at the mention of Barack Obama’s name
This media obsession reminds me of overblown media claims of a ”riot” in the Florida elections office in 2000–as if a law-abiding gathering of 40 people in button-downs and sportcoats even remotely resembles a “riot”.
If the media really wants to see anger maybe they should go to the back of the crowds at Barack Obama’s rallies. There they’ll find the “truthers,” the communists, and those with the “Chimpy McBusHitler” signs. Of course, if the media left their spots at the front of Obama’s rallies they might miss their one and only opportunity to make eye contact with “The One.”

Authorities have arrested two men after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a 4-foot by 8-foot campaign sign for Republican presidential candidate John McCain . . .
Here are some more “hate” stories:
“I will kick her ass.” (about Palin)
“Abort Sarah Palin” bumper stickers
“I am a bloodthirsty warmonger” photo shoot
“Kill Bush” signs
None of these are news. However, were the roles reversed, this molotov cocktail story would lead the Sunday morning talk shows. Instead they’re probably all talking about how some McCain supporters are so angry that they’re actually booing mention of Barack Obama.
ALSO:
Frank Rich is worried about a “fire raging out of control” among McCain supporters. Funny how Rich doesn’t care about real fires, just the virtual ones in his feverish imagination.

There is more anger in this five minutes of video directed at a peaceful march of McCain-Palin supporters on New York’s Upper West Side than you will see in five weeks of McCain-Palin rallies. If Frank Rich would leave the Grey Lady’s echo chamber, he might actually experience reality once in a while.

[…] Bob Krumm hit upon something I had noticed, but never made the time to write about. There has been an onrush, particularly from the toilet-ready pages of The New York Times (they double-ply the editorial pages, I hear) denouncing those who gather to support John McCain as “angry”, or “hate filled”. […]

Bob,
Take a gander at what I sent Frank Rich. Brace yourself, I use blunt language.
