It may not be the best thing . . .
But it is certainly the best thing for the country that Republicans follow Mitt Romney’s lead and begin to unite about John McCain as their nominee for President.
Take a day or two to get the wailing and lamentations out of the way. My man didn’t win either. But we’re a practical party unlike the other guys. And the eminently practical thing to do right now is to help elect Republican nominee John McCain, a far better man than either of the two remaining Democratic candidates.
UPDATE:
Part of Mitt Romney’s prepared remarks:
If this were only about me, I would go on. But I entered this race because I love America, and because I love America, I feel I must now stand aside, for our party and for our country.

Romney’s resignation was pure class. Good for him, not good that he dropped out necessarily, but good for him for doing it like an adult.
I wish him and his family the very best.
